Digital Stories

The way we craft our stories shapes our lives, individually and collectively. Sophistication and simplification of technology have combined to bridge multimedia literacy and build community.

Digital Storytelling is a powerful and fun tool and in a few focused, creative sessions, we will focus on quality of building story using a mash-up of images, text, recorded audio narration, video clips and music while crafting a sizzle reel, a short film, a clip reel, a podcast series, graphic treatments for creative projects, radio announcements, a mini-documentary or stop-motion animation – the possibilities are endless!

Deanne trained at the Banff Centre for the Arts, the Centre for Digital Storytelling in Berkeley, California and is a Level II Certified Artist Educator through The Royal Conservatory. As a media educator, she trains on how to effectively apply and integrate media to workplaces and classrooms. She writes study guides for documentaries for distribution, and instructs in film schools.

What others have said:

Deanne Esdale joined my class to teach media literacy lessons with the Shaw Media Rocket Prize. Deanne is confident and well spoken and made an immediate connection with the students in my class.
